Mission

BYFTU endeavours to give women entrepreneurs, especially those having home or small businesses, the opportunity to become financially independent, despite the several constraints that they face. BYFTU is an attempt to fill the communication gap between buyers and sellers of handmade products and vocational skill services.

A major part of our mission is to enable every woman of India to work, using the vocational skills that she possesses, and attain the self-reliance that every human being deserves. BYFTU is for those mothers whose professional careers have been halted and who have been confined within the boundaries of their homes. BYFTU is for those women who have sacrificed their careers owing to the conservative societal norms. BYFTU is for those women who lack the financial resources to build their entrepreneurial careers. BYFTU is for every woman who is extremely talented but lacks the education to pursue a mainstream career. BYFTU is for every girl who wishes to present her handmade creations to the world and make herself financially independent. BYFTU endeavours to facilitate women who have either chosen, or have been left with no option but, to work and earn from their homes. In short, BYFTU is for every woman who has dared to dream in any given situation.

With our endeavour to monetise the talent of vocationally skilled women, we also look forward to enabling such entrepreneurs contribute towards the GDP of the country.

Vision

Having seen the number of women who possess immense talent but lack the means to monetize that talent, our dream is to see such small- scale, vocationally talented entrepreneurs prosper and let their dreams be unaffected by all the constraints that they face. We envision an India where women are able to work and earn, and their responsibilities towards their home and hearth do not come in the way of their aspirations. We wish to see an India where such talented women, utilising their talent, see no limits in their earnings and where they become proud contributors to the GDP growth of this country.

At the same time, BYFTU is built upon the vision to enhance the value of vocational arts. We endeavour to increase the demand and supply of handmade and home-made products and services related to vocational skills, thus increasing the market for such products and services.
